Athletes with disabilities might have different speeds compared to the overall group of race athletes, therefore it is recommended to create a separate wave or race for AWD. If you set up a separate wave you can make sure the average speed matches with the disabled athletes. The average speed is used to calculate an athlete's expected position on the course from the start till the first split point. When an athlete hit the first split it will use his personal average speed to calculate his expected position and expected finish time.
